Quick answer: The most comfortable time to visit Eilat is March–April and October–November, outside of school holidays. According to the multi-year averages from the Israel Meteorological Service (1991–2020), the daytime temperature in October is about 34°C and at night about 22°C, and in April about 32°C during the day and 19°C at night — compared to about 41°C during the day in July–August. Three factors determine what your vacation will be like: the midday heat, water temperature, and whether it's a school holiday. We've compiled all three into one table for each month of the year.
What is Eilat like each month?
Eilat is hot and dry almost all year round: the average daytime temperature ranges from about 22°C in January to about 41°C in July, and sea temperatures do not drop below about 21°C. The big difference between months is the midday heat and when school holidays occur — which is when families from all over the country can travel.

How we calculated: Temperatures are calculated from the monthly summaries of the Israel Meteorological Service for the Eilat station — the measured temperature minus the deviation from the multi-year average (1991–2020): January · February · March · April · May · June · July · August · September · October · November · December. Sea temperature is the monthly average from the GoSurf website, based on buoy and satellite measurements from 2019 onwards — this is not official data from the Israel Meteorological Service. School holidays are according to the Ministry of Education's holiday schedule for the 2026/27 academic year (kindergartens, elementary, and junior high schools in the state education system; some holidays differ in high schools). Checked on October 9, 2026.
All major holidays, vacations, and events in the city for the next 12 months are compiled in the Eilat Holidays and Events Calendar — each entry leads to accommodation searches for those dates. For full weather details, see Eilat Weather by Month.
Why are October–November the most comfortable time?
Because the summer heat breaks, and the sea is still warm. According to the Israel Meteorological Service, the average in November is about 28°C during the day and 17°C at night, and in October about 34°C and 22°C. The water is about 25–26°C according to GoSurf, and after Sukkot (ended on 3.10.2026), there are no school holidays until Hanukkah.
